How Pioneer Systems™ work
Pioneer Systems™ use cartridge-based filtration. Different cartridge options are available depending on the water concern.

MultiMax™ combines water softening and whole-house filtration in one system. It is designed for homes that need help with hard water as well as taste, odor, chlorine, chloramine and certain chemicals.

How MultiMax™ works
MultiMax™ uses a two-stage filtration and softening process. Water first passes through Granular Activated Carbon media to help reduce chemicals, odors and other impurities. This can also help protect the softening media from chlorine exposure, which may dry out softener resin over time and contribute to plumbing repairs. Water then passes through softening media to help reduce hardness.
MultiMax™ may be a good fit for homes that need a water softener and a whole-house filtration system in one piece of equipment.
High iron concentrations may require additional equipment. HSP can review your water test results and explain available options.

Activated carbon filtration
Carbon filtration systems utilize adsorption to filter water.
Adsorption is the adhesion of molecules from a liquid or gas attaching themselves to the surface of another substance. The granular activated carbon in a filtration system has a highly porous structure, offering an extensive surface area for water impurities, including chlorine, to adhere to as water passes through.
Activated carbon filtration can be used to help reduce chlorine, chloramine, taste, odor and certain chemicals in water.

Cartridge-based filtration
