About the assessment proces

Find a contractor

Select a SBES program-approved contractor to perform your assessment and help complete the application.

Get the assessment

Next, your contractor will tour your facility and generate an energy report detailing the costs, savings and discounts associated with a variety of suggested improvements. Read through the energy report and identify the improvements you would like to make.

Install and save

After the upgrades are made, the program discounts will automatically be applied to the amount you owe for the contractor's services. No waiting for a rebate check or additional forms to complete!

About building tune-ups

Quickly cut energy costs without spending a lot of money on new equipment through CenterPoint Energy's Building Tune-Up Program. At no cost to you, a highly qualified program expert will perform a study on your facility detailing ways to optimize your current system, typically resulting in reduced energy costs between 10% and 15%.

Additionally, to help install any of the identified improvements, we will cover 100% of eligible measurement and implementation costs - up to $5,000! To receive the maximum discount, every participant is asked to agree to spend a minimum of $5,000 towards improvements, identified by the BTU study, with an 18-month or less payback.
