CenterPoint Energy selects HomeServe USA to offer home repair plans!

CenterPoint Energy works hard every day to deliver safe, reliable and affordable natural gas service for its customers.  As part of that commitment, we look for new, affordable ways to protect the homes and budgets of our customers from the high cost and hassle of unexpected repairs. That is why CenterPoint Energy is partnering with HomeServe, a leading provider of home repair solutions, to launch a new service program to help meet the home repair needs of CenterPoint Energy natural gas customers in Texas. 

HomeServe has as an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and serves 3.6 million customers across the U.S. and Canada directly and through 450 utility companies, manufacturer partner brands, and service providers.

Soon CenterPoint Energy customers will be able to sign up for optional service plans to cover repairs to customer owned gas lines and household cooling systems, with additional service plan options coming in fall 2018.  Service plans start at just $5.49 a month and provide customers with access to a Repair Hotline that is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, as well as local, licensed, and insured technicians that will come to their home for repairs.

What is my responsibility as a homeowner?

While homeowners understand that cooling systems are their responsibility to maintain and repair, many are unaware that the natural gas lines on their property are their responsibility in the event a repair or replacement is needed.  CenterPoint Energy owns and maintains all piping up to and including the gas meter, and the piping from the outlet of the meter to the connection at any gas appliance inside or outside of your home is your responsibility. Service plans from HomeServe cover the cost of repairs to these lines and systems on homeowners’ property and eliminate the hassle of finding a qualified technician when repairs are needed.
