    What is covered?

    1. Check thermostat operation
    2. Check voltage and amperage to all motors
    3. Clean filter or replace (customer supplied)
    4. Inspect indoor blower and motor for dirt buildup
    5. Check system temperature split
    6. Inspect bearings and lubricate all moving parts (if needed)
    7. Inspect disconnect
    8. Inspect condensate drain
    9. Inspect fuses
    10. Exterior Coil Cleaning
    11. Inspect wiring
    12. Inspect duct seal at unit and secure panels
    13. Tighten electrical connections
    14. Run and test system
    15. Inspect contactors, relays and pressure controls
    16. Inspect electrical safety circuits
    17. Outdoor coil inspection

    Enrollment in the Cooling Tune-up plan is totally optional and it can be combined with other heating and cooling repair plans.

    ​Important Information

    Eligibility

    CenterPoint Energy natural gas customers who own a residential home, are solely responsible for its repairs, and are not aware of any current cooling system problems.

    You are not eligible for this coverage if you have a cooling system that has non-compliant components, capacity exceeding five (5) tons; ammonia cooling, window, through the wall, hanging, geothermal heat pump or combination ambient heat/domestic hot water heating unit.

    Exclusions

    Any work that is not expressly stated to be included in the Cooling Tune-Up coverage checklist above.

    Making a Service Call

    You can make a service call immediately after your plan starts, which is 30 days after your form is processed. Upon renewal/restart (if applicable), you can make a service call immediately.

    Cancellation

    Cancel your plan any time by calling HomeServe at 833-502-2853 or visiting www.homeserve.com/cancel. If you cancel within 30 days before your plan start date, you will not be charged. If you cancel within 30 days after the plan start date, you will get a full refund (less benefits paid). If you cancel 31 or more days after the plan start date, you will get a pro-rata refund (less benefits paid). Upon renewal/restart, you can cancel any time and you will get a pro-rata refund (less benefits paid).

    Renewal

    The plan is annual. Unless you cancel, your plan automatically renews annually at the then-current renewal price and is billed monthly through your utility bill. HomeServe is an independent company, separate from CenterPoint Energy.
