Eligibility
CenterPoint Energy natural gas customers who own a residential home, are solely responsible for its repairs, and are not aware of any current electric line or electric vehicle charger problems.
Exclusions
Interior Electric:
Appliances; appliance cords; non-standard wall switches; dimmers; remote control outlets; extension cords; service entrance conductors; resetting of circuit breakers or system controls; repairs consisting of knob and tube wiring, aluminum, or other non-standard/non-permanent materials; failure arising from the disconnection from or interruption to the main electrical supply; replacement of light bulbs, light fixtures and fittings, fuses or plugs; Electrical systems less than 80 amps. Repairs to any wiring that is connected to or part of any low voltage system, including but not limited to decorative fixtures, fish tanks, spas, satellite or cable TV systems, security alarms and systems, telephone wiring, smoke detectors, and garage door systems. Any fixture that must be plugged into an electrical outlet.
EV Charger exclusions:
Reimbursement for (a) EV Chargers otherwise covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, service contract, or insurance policy or (b) EV Chargers involved in a manufacturer’s recall, defect or class action lawsuit. Reimbursement for failure: (a) due to external factors, such as rust, corrosion, warping, bending, animals, animal inhabitation or insect infestation; (b) caused by improper removal or installation of replaceable components, modules, parts or peripheral devices and/or installation of incorrect parts; or (c) caused by malwares such as viruses, spyware, worms, trojans for EV Chargers that are connected to the internet.
Coverage
The Interior Electric with Electric Vehicle Charger repair plan covers high-voltage wiring that services the interior limits of your residence, from and including the breaker panel or fuse box, up to and including switches and outlets. The plan also covers 1 broken, failed, or hazardous level 2 electrical charging device used for the charging of plug-in electric vehicles, including plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Making a Service Call
Your plan starts the day your order is processed. There is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a service call, providing 11 months of coverage during the first year. Upon renewal/reactivation (if applicable), there is no waiting period.
Cancellation
Cancel any time by calling HomeServe at 1-833-808-6705. If you cancel within 30 days of your start date, you will get a full refund (less claims paid, where applicable). Cancellations after the first 30 days will be effective at the end of the then-current billing month, and you will get a pro-rata refund (less claims paid), where applicable.
Renewal
The plan is annual. Unless you cancel, your plan automatically renews annually at the then-current renewal price and is billed monthly through your utility bill. HomeServe is an independent company, separate from CenterPoint Energy.
