Designed with customers in mind, this program offers a helping hand to families and individuals who typically wouldn’t qualify for public assistance.
The Customer Assistance Fund (CAF)* provides eligible customers with financial assistance to help manage their energy bills. Administered in partnership with The Salvation Army, the program offers an easy and accessible application process. CAF was designed to offer a helping hand to families and individuals who typically wouldn’t qualify for public assistance.
The program is available to CenterPoint Energy customers in Indiana and Ohio who may fall into the income guidelines listed in the chart, which will include more customers than most federal assistance programs.
A customer can apply once during the calendar year (January 1 to December 31) and may reapply at the start of each new calendar year.
