HOUSTON – Nov. 24, 2025 – With severe weather and thunderstorms anticipated to impact the Greater Houston area from Monday evening through Tuesday morning, CenterPoint Energy has activated its storm readiness plan and is closely monitoring evolving forecasts and taking action to prepare for additional impacts from severe weather. CenterPoint frontline workers continue to safely respond to weather-related outages and will do so throughout this severe weather event.
“With reports of one tornado touching down in the Jersey Village area, we are actively monitoring weather models as conditions continue to evolve," said Lena Dziechowski, CenterPoint's Lead Meteorology Specialist. “An additional line of storms is expected late this evening with strong wind gusts and lightning. Our teams are taking a series of actions to prepare for severe weather and responding to each outage as safely and quickly as possible."
Preparing for Severe Weather: Key Actions
As part of its storm response efforts, CenterPoint is taking the following actions:

Activated storm readiness plan: CenterPoint's Emergency Management and Response team has activated its storm preparedness efforts.

Monitoring severe weather 24/7: The Meteorology team continues to track weather forecast developments, and CenterPoint is updating response efforts as conditions evolve.

Coordinating with local officials: CenterPoint is providing regular updates and working closely with local officials and emergency response partners to coordinate storm preparations and response actions.
