Mid-Stream Market Transformation Program

Program provides incentives to air conditioning and pool pump distributors who work with dealers and contractors to install higher efficiency equipment in residential projects.

Eligibility

A/C Distributors

Eligible participants include air conditioning distributors who supply qualifying systems for residential replacement applications only. New construction installations do not qualify.

Qualifying systems must:

  • Be AHRI-matched
  • Be 1.5 ton to 5-ton
  • Meet or exceed guidelines of 16 SEER (plus 8.6 Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) for heat pumps)

Pool Pump Distributors

Eligible participants include pool pump distributors who sell qualified ENERGY STAR® variable speed pool pumps to licensed and insured contractors.

Incentives are provided to the distributor for the sale of residential, single-family in-ground pools installed in the CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric service distribution territory.

CenterPoint Energy partners with a contractor to implement this program. As part of the program, our partner can help you:

  • Verify your eligibility
  • Understand and meet documentation requirements
  • Navigate the incentive payment process.

Residential Standard Offer Program

This program provides incentives to approved contractors for making energy efficient upgrades to participating homes.

Eligibility

Program is available to contractors, service companies, community agencies and other organizations who install energy efficiency retrofit projects in residential homes.

Eligible energy efficiency measures include:

  • Weatherization (window caulking, repair/replace door and window seals)
  • Ceiling insulation*
  • Water-saving devices for electric heated water heaters. Devices include faucet aerators and low-flow shower heads
  • ENERGY STAR® windows

* Experts recommend R-30 ceiling insulation. For walls, R-15 is recommended for new homes, but in existing home R-11 toR-13 is acceptable.

CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric is not a party to the agreement between the participating customer and their sponsor, and the sponsor is solely responsible for the performance of the work and contract fulfillment.

Program Sponsor Registration

Hard-to-Reach Standard Offer Program

Program provides incentives to contractors, service companies and community agencies that work with eligible low-income residential customers to install energy efficient equipment. Non-profit agencies, who build new homes to ENERGY STAR® standards for low-income families, also qualify.

Eligibility

Residential customers, the homeowners and end users in this program, must have an annual total household income that is less than 200 percent of current federal poverty guidelines. Learn more about Income Eligibility.

Qualifying retrofit projects include:

  • Weatherization (window caulking, repair/replace door and window seals)
  • Ceiling insulation*
  • Water-saving devices for electric heated water heaters. Devices include faucet aerators and low-flow shower heads
  • LED light bulbs
