Switch to Smart Cycle

You may be eligible to receive a smart thermostat and a monthly summer credit on your electric bill

Open to all of our current Summer Cycler customers, Smart Cycle uses new Wi-Fi thermostat technology replacing our traditional cycling switches. Over the next several years, the Summer Cycler program will transition to the Smart Cycle program, and you are invited to make the switch.

When you transition to the Smart Cycle program, we will provide you with a professionally installed smart thermostat at no cost for your home. During the 2025 months of March through November, you will receive an increased bill credit in the amount of $7.50 per month for participating in Smart Cycle events. These cycling events allow us to pre-cool your home and cycle your air conditioning unit to manage energy levels on peak usage days.

Am I eligible for Smart Cycle?

To qualify for the Smart Cycle program and receive your smart thermostat:

You must be a CenterPoint Energy Indiana electric customer
You must be a current Summer Cycler participant
You must have Wi-Fi in your home
Your existing heating/cooling system and any smart thermostats you already have installed at your home must meet the compatibility requirements.
You must enroll in Smart Thermostat Rewards program for 3 years (early exit from the program may result in additional charges)

Make the Switch to Smart Cycle with these simple steps:

Complete the form below and agree to the terms of the program.
Schedule your service appointment.
- If you have an existing smart thermostat, it will need to be enrolled separately**. You will need to schedule a service appointment for a CenterPoint technician to visit your home and remove the Summer Cycler device from your air conditioner unit.
- If you do not have a smart thermostat, you will receive a FREE ecobee thermostat. You will need to schedule a service appointment for a CenterPoint technician to visit your home and install it. Your device will be auto enrolled once it is installed.
You're set! Once your smart thermostat is enrolled you are officially enrolled in Smart Cycle program and will receive a $7.50 bill credit during the months of March through November 2025 for staying enrolled in the program.

*You must enroll in Smart Cycle for three years. Early exit from the program may result in additional charges.

**If you have an existing thermostat, you are eligible to receive a one-time $75 credit once you enroll. Terms and conditions apply.
