Wayzata - County Roads 101 and 15, T.H. 12

Anticipated Project Duration: early July to late August 2019

Project Description

The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) is reviewing Permit 19-168 for conformance with the District’s rules. CenterPoint Energy is proposing to install approximately 4,292 feet of natural gas pipeline via directional boring at two locations along TH 12: approximately adjacent to Gardner St. E. northbound along Central Ave. N. (CR 101) to Hollybrook Rd., as well as the intersection of Wayzata Blvd. W & Bushaway Rd. along CR 15 until continuing approximately 1,200 feet East along Wayzata Blvd. E. in the City of Wayzata. MCWD regulates the project under our Erosion Control and Waterbody Crossings & Structures rules. There are no proposed wetland impacts.

Contact Cole Thompson with questions or concerns regarding the permit at cthompson@minnehahacreek.org or 952-641-4521. Additional information can be found on the MCWD website at https://www.minnehahacreek.org/content/19-168-public-notice.

Permits are reviewed by staff for compliance with District rules. Interested parties may request that the permit be considered by the MCWD Board of Managers. Requests for Board consideration must be in writing and received at the MCWD offices prior to 4:30 p.m., June 4, 2019.

What are the estimated traffic impacts?

  • Residents and local businesses will have access to their properties.
  • Construction will occur in segments along the construction route, rather than all at once. Lane restrictions are anticipated in areas where active construction is occurring and are necessary to keep both the public and construction personnel safe.
  • CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, Q3 Contracting, will restore the areas affected by CenterPoint Energy’s construction—typically the boulevard, lawn, sidewalk and road.
