Crews from Q3 Contracting, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, temporarily restored the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. The crews will return in 2020 to permanently restore these areas. Please see our restoration web page for examples of temporary and permanent restoration.

Last week crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, finished replacing the project’s natural gas main. Crews from Q3 Contracting, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are continuing to temporarily restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. Please see our restoration web page for examples of temporary and permanent restoration. 


11/1/2019

The remaining natural gas main installation is anticipated to last into late November. Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are performing the following natural gas work:

  • The crews are continuing to replace natural gas main along Pleasant View Drive between the roundabout and Raymond Drive.
  • The crews are connecting the new main to the existing intersecting one east of Raymond Drive.
  • After this area is done with natural gas work, the crews will move west of the roundabout, replacing natural gas main along the south side of 520th Street.
In approximately a week, crews from Q3 Contracting, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, will begin restoring the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. Due to weather, the crews will temporarily restore in 2019 and permanently restore in 2020. Please see our restoration web page for examples of temporary and permanent restoration. 



10/28/2019

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are currently replacing natural gas main along the south side of Pleasant View Drive between Raymond Drive and Willow Lane, heading toward the roundabout soon. 


10/16/2019

  • Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, began replacing the project’s natural gas main at Tower Boulevard and Lee Boulevard, working north.
  • By approximately the end of today on Wednesday, October 16, the crews will have replaced the main on Lee Boulevard, Lookout Drive and Restless Court, in addition to Pleasant View Drive between Restless Court and Northridge Drive.
  • On Pleasant View Drive, the crews are working on the west side of the road. The rest of the project’s main installation is expected to late into late November or early December, weather permitting.

Where, when, and why is CenterPoint Energy performing construction?

From the week of October 7 to late fall 2019, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, Michels Corporation, will be replacing natural gas mains in North Mankato’s Pleasant View Drive Neighborhood. Construction will occur along the following streets:
 
  • 520th Street for approximately one mile north from County Road 41
  • Pleasant View Drive from County Road 41 to Restless Court
  • Restless Court from Pleasant View Drive to Lookout Drive
  • Lookout Drive from Restless Court to Lee Boulevard
  • Lee Boulevard from Lookout Drive to Tower Boulevard

What are the estimated traffic impacts?

  • Residents and local businesses will have access to their properties.
  • Construction will occur in segments along the construction route, rather than all at once. Lane restrictions are anticipated in areas where active construction is occurring and are necessary to keep both the public and construction personnel safe.

  • CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, Q3 Contracting, will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s construction—typically the boulevard, lawn, sidewalk and road.
