Minneapolis - 33rd Street E. at I-35W

Project description: Beginning on Wednesday, November 4 and lasting for approximately three weeks, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will perform work on 33rd Street E. at Stevens and 2nd Avenues S. While Michels Corporation will replace the natural gas main, Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. The areas that receive temporary restoration this year will receive permanent restoration in 2021.
Traffic impacts: There will be a lane shift on Stevens Avenue S. just south of 33rd Street E. There will be a road closure of 33rd Street E. between 2nd Avenue S. and the alley between 2nd and 3rd Avenues S. During the closure at 2nd Avenue S., a detour route will lead drivers to 32nd or 34th Streets E. via 3rd Avenue S. These restrictions are anticipated where active construction is occurring and are necessary to keep both the public and construction personnel safe.
