Mankato - Belleview Ave and Woodshire Dr - Project Updates

CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors have finished the project’s 2020 portion. Q3 Contracting restored the project’s hard surfaces affected by Michels Corporation’s work and put down winter erosion control (straw matting) on the yards and boulevards affected by affected by Michels Corporation’s work. Q3 Contracting will return in 2021 to put down black dirt and seed on the soft surfaces.

CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors are finishing the 2020 portion of the project.

Last week, crews from Michels Corporation finished connecting the natural gas service lines to the new mains. Crews from Q3 Contracting will put down temporary winter erosion control in the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. In 2021, the crews will return for permanent restoration.

The crews will not work from November 26 to 29. We wish you a safe and well holiday weekend!

CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors are continuing to work in Mankato. In the week of November 16, crews from Michels Corporation plan to finish the project’s natural gas service line connections to the new natural gas mains. Crews from Q3 Contracting will place temporary winter erosion control on the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. In 2021, they will return for permanent restoration.

The crews have replaced the project’s natural gas mains. They are beginning to connect the residents’ natural gas service lines to the new mains. The connections are expected to last into the week of November 16. The crews will make appointments with the residents.

If the weather isn’t conducive for permanent restoration, the crews will temporarily restore the areas affected by construction with winter erosion control. In 2021, the crews will return for permanent restoration.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are currently replacing the natural gas main on Belleview Avenue, working west from Swiss Street. Then the crews will replace the natural gas main on Riverview Street and Jayro Court.

Beginning on October 26, lasting into mid-November, and resuming in the spring of 2021, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will work in Mankato along the following streets: Belleview Ave., Woodshire Dr., Maple Ln., Jayro Ct. and Riverview St. Michels Corporation will replace the natural gas mains and connect the natural gas service lines to the new mains. When Michels Corporation replaces the natural gas lines, they will fully close the project’s streets except for Jayro Ct. and Riverview St. The crews will work with residents on maintaining access.

According to the State of Minnesota’s Cold Weather Rule, the crews will make appointments with residents before connecting their service lines to the new mains between October 15 and April 15.

Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. This year, if the weather isn’t conducive for permanent restoration, Q3 Contracting will temporarily restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work with winter erosion control. In 2021, these areas will be permanently restored.

As of the week of August 24, CenterPoint Energy has postponed this project until further notice. We apologize for the confusion and appreciate your patience. Communication will be sent closer to the project’s new start date.

Project description: Beginning on Thursday, August 27 and lasting into approx. late September 2020, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will be performing work in Mankato along the following streets: Belleview Ave. between Woodshire Dr. and Swiss St.; Woodshire Dr., Maple Ln. and Knollcrest Dr. between Belleview Ave. and Sylvan Way. Crews from Michels Corporation will replace the natural gas mains and connect the natural gas service lines to the new mains. Crews from Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work.

Traffic impacts: While Michels Corporation is replacing the natural gas mains from Aug. 27 to approx. Sept. 4, they will fully close the project’s streets. As the crews are connecting the service lines to the new mains, they will gradually reopen the streets. These restrictions are anticipated in areas where active construction is occurring and are necessary to keep both the public and construction personnel safe. Local access will be maintained.
