The crew is beginning their work at 175th Street W., working north approximately two blocks at a time.
During this time, the crews will shift lanes while maintaining two-way traffic on Kenrick Avenue. Entrances to and from business parking lots will remain open. Flaggers will be on site to help direct traffic.
CenterPoint Energy is replacing other natural gas lines on Ipava Avenue and a few select streets, including Kenrick Avenue. From Tuesday, September 6 until at least Friday, September 16, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will close northbound Kenrick Avenue from Kenrick Loop to 164th Street W. While Michels Corporation will replace a large-diameter natural gas steel main, Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work.
Constituents will still be able to access the 164th Street W. entrance to the businesses in the area. If anyone is heading north on Kenrick Avenue, they will see detour signs at 165th Street W. They’ll be detoured east on 165th Street W., north on Ipava Avenue, and west on 162nd Street W.
