By the morning of Saturday, October 1, a crew from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, plan to open the southern entrance to Dunkin’ Donuts and Lakeville Liquors. When that happens, they will close the northern entrance, which is also the drive-through entrance to Dunkin’ Donuts. This closure will last for approximately four weeks. Tomorrow on Friday, September 30, Q3 Contracting plans to restore the curb and sidewalk on Kenrick Avenue.

Some existing closures will remain in place. For approximately four weeks, northbound Kenrick Avenue will remain closed from Maple Island Road to the entrance of Speedway. For approximately two weeks, a lane on Kenrick Avenue from County Road 46 to Kenrick Loop will remain closed. In the week of October 3, the crew plans to restore the sidewalk. For one business day, the crew plans to close the Kenrick Avenue entrance to the businesses from YMCA to Starbucks, but the entrances to these businesses from Kenrick Loop will remain open. The project’s inspector will remain in touch with the businesses regarding this date. Thank you for your understanding!

CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors are continuing to work in Lakeville. While Michels Corporation is replacing the large-diameter natural gas steel main, Q3 Contracting is restoring the areas affected by their work. Beginning on Monday, September 19 and lasting for approximately six weeks, the following two traffic changes will occur on Kenrick Avenue:

Southbound traffic will be closed on Kenrick Avenue from Maple Island Road to Dunkin’ Donuts. During this time, northbound traffic will remain open, while southbound traffic will be detoured from Crystal Lake Road to Interstate 35 and to County Road 46.

Two-way traffic will be maintained on Kenrick Avenue from County Road 46 to Kenrick Loop. By then, the closure of northbound Kenrick Avenue in this area will have been opened.

We appreciate your patience as we upgrade our natural gas system. We hope to work as efficiently as we can to minimize disruptions.

What will CenterPoint Energy do?

From Monday, August 15 into late September 2022, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will work in Lakeville along Kenrick Avenue S. from Kenrick Loop to 175th Street W. While Michels Corporation will replace a small-diameter natural gas plastic main, connect service lines to this main, and move inside meters outside, Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work.

The crew is beginning their work at 175th Street W., working north approximately two blocks at a time. During this time, the crews will shift lanes while maintaining two-way traffic on Kenrick Avenue. Entrances to and from business parking lots will remain open. Flaggers will be on site to help direct traffic.

What should I expect during soft surface restoration?

On the soft surfaces such as boulevards and lawns, various erosion control measures keep the restored area moist, hold seed in the soil, and enhance seed germination. If an erosion blanket is needed it is secured in place with staples. The mesh is a wood fiber that will completely degrade. Prior to mowing the restored area, remove any loose staples that secured the blanket.
