Hastings - Highway 316 - Project Updates

Traffic Impacts

For most of the project’s duration, two-way traffic will be maintained with lane shifts. Flaggers may be placed on Highway 316 at Maher Avenue and Tuttle Drive to help direct traffic. Parking will be restricted on both sides of 31st Street E. Sidewalk closures will alternate in areas of active construction.


For a limited time, the crews will close Maher Avenue on either side of Highway 316. During this time, Maher Avenue will be open to local residents only. Through traffic will be redirected. Douglas Drive, 37th Street W. and Highway 316 will remain open during the Maher Avenue closure.

Project Description

From April 26 to late May or early June 2021, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will work in Hastings along Highway 316 (Red Wing Boulevard) at Spiral Boulevard, 31st Street W., Maher Avenue and Tuttle Drive. While Michels Corporation will replace the natural gas main, connect the natural gas service lines to the new main, and move any inside residential meters outside, Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work.
