Golden Valley - Laurel Avenue - Project Updates

What will CenterPoint Energy do?

Beginning in the week of June 21 and lasting into the summer of 2021, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will work in Golden Valley along the following roads: Wayzata Boulevard between Hampshire and Florida Avenues S.; Florida Avenue S. just south of Laurel Avenue; and Laurel Avenue between Jersey and Florida Avenues S.


Michels Corporation will replace two natural gas mains and connect the natural gas service lines to this new main. Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. Although no full road closures are expected, lane and parking closures will occur. Two-way traffic will be maintained on the roads within the project’s routes.


The crews will begin work on Wayzata Boulevard and Laurel Avenue. Work on these streets is expected to last for approximately three weeks, including restoration. The work on Florida Avenue S. will begin on July 19 and last for approximately five weeks, including restoration.
