For the weeks of March 15 and 22, the crews will replace the natural gas main on Jonathan Carver Parkway from 6th Street W. to just south of 4th Street W. During this time, there will be a shoulder closure on Jonathan Carver Parkway.

When the crews are done with this section of the main replacement, they will begin the main replacement at Ironwood Drive. This will be in coordination with the timing of Carver County’s “Jonathan Carver Parkway (County Highway 11)” project.

Project Description

From Monday, March 15 to late spring 2021, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will work in Carver along Jonathan Carver Parkway from Spring Creek Drive to 4th Street W. While Michels Corporation will replace the natural gas main, connect the natural gas service lines to the new main, and move any residential inside meters outside, Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work outside the limits of Carver County’s “Jonathan Carver Parkway (County Highway 11)” project.

Traffic Impacts

Work will happen in segments rather than all at once. Lane, road and parking closures may occur and will be detailed on our website closer to the project’s start date. CenterPoint Energy’s traffic plans will happen in coordination with Carver County’s project.

These closures are necessary to keep the crews and the public safe. We appreciate your patience as we continue to upgrade our natural gas system, ensuring system reliability for years to come.
