Burnsville - Buck Hill Road
Scheduled Start Date: May 10, 2021
Project Resources:
From May to fall 2021, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will work in Burnsville, along Buck Hill Road, from the Burnsville Mall to 158th Street W. During this time Michels Corporation will replace two natural gas mains, and Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. Prior to construction there will be some tree trimming and minimal tree removals to prepare the gas main corridor. Additional correspondence will be sent to property owners that can expect tree removals to occur on their property.
On May 10, crews will replace the first main from the entrance to Buck Hill Ski Area to 158th Street W. During this time, two-way traffic will be maintained on Buck Hill Road. The sidewalk will be closed. Entrances to Buck Hill and 158th Street W. will remain open.
From mid- or late May to fall, the crews will return to replace the second gas main, located in CenterPoint gas main easements along the west side of Buck Hill Road, from the Burnsville Mall to 158th Street W. During this time, a few blocks will be under construction at a time for a few weeks at a time. During this time there will be lane closures and sidewalk closures. When the crews cross an intersection, each crossing will take approx. one week to cross and restore the crossroad. At the end of the project, the crews will return to the north and south ends of the job to complete final connections of the new gas main.
The CenterPoint onsite inspectors will work with residents and businesses on maintaining access. These restrictions necessary to keep both the public and construction personnel safe.
