For most of the project’s duration, two-way traffic will be maintained on Brooklyn Boulevard while the crews shift lanes to accommodate their work. When they cross some of the intersections, they will close 60th and 62nd Avenues at Brooklyn Boulevard. For the 60th Avenue closure, detour signs will lead drivers to 63rd Avenue and Beard Avenue. For the 62nd Avenue, detour signs will lead drivers to 63rd Avenue and Chowen Avenue. Local access will be maintained. Steel plates will be used as needed for driveway crossings.
From May 17 to late July 2021, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will work in Brooklyn Center along Brooklyn Boulevard between 59th and 65th Avenues N. While Michels Corporation will replace the natural gas main, connect the natural gas service lines to the new main, and move any inside residential meters outside, Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work outside the limits of Hennepin County’s Brooklyn Boulevard Reconstruction.
