Project Status - Brooklyn Center - Bass Lake Road and Brooklyn Boulevard
Crews from CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, Michels Corporation, have been progressing in CenterPoint Energy’s Bass Lake Road and Brooklyn Boulevard project in Brooklyn Center. From the week of April 8 to the end of the week of May 13, the crews will have installed natural gas main along Brooklyn Boulevard between Bass Lake Road and 59th Avenue N. Within the week of May 13, the crews will have finished connecting natural gas service lines to the installed mains.
During active construction, two-way traffic is being maintained on Brooklyn Boulevard. The hard surfaces affected by CenterPoint Energy’s construction in the project’s southern part have been restored.
Where, when, and why is CenterPoint Energy performing construction?
Beginning in the week of April 8 and ending in mid-May 2019, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, Michels Corporation, will be replacing natural gas mains in Brooklyn Center at the intersection of Bass Lake Road and Brooklyn Boulevard. Further construction will be performed by road contractors during and after CenterPoint Energy’s work.
What are the estimated traffic impacts?
- Residents and local businesses will have access to their properties.
- Construction will occur in segments along the construction route, rather than all at once. Lane restrictions are anticipated in areas where active construction is occurring and are necessary to keep both the public and construction personnel safe.
- CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, Q3 Contracting, will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s construction—typically the boulevard, lawn, sidewalk and road.
