On Monday, March 29, crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, will begin replacing the project’s natural gas mains. Lane closures will occur on Jackson, Van Buren, Tyler and Polk Streets NE between 89th and 91st Avenues NE. The crews will assist residents with access to driveways and will allow access to mail, garbage and delivery services.

The crews will start replacing the mains on Van Buren and Tyler Streets NE between 89th and 91st Avenues NE. On these streets, the crews estimate an approximate duration of four weeks to include the main replacement, service line connection, and restoration of the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. During this time, parking will be restricted on both sides of Van Buren and Tyler Streets NE to accommodate the crews’ work.

After the crews start on Van Buren and Tyler Streets NE, they will start on Polk Street NE between 89th and 91st Avenues NE. Through traffic will be detoured to Highway 65.
