June 12, 2026

Dear West University Place neighbors,

As part of our ongoing commitment to your community, we hope you will join us for our second Community Connect meeting, where CenterPoint team members will be able to answer your questions and share more about the actions we’ve taken, and plan to take, to provide you with more reliable and resilient power.

Actions Taken to Date: Improving Day-to-Day Reliability
Since May 18, we have completed several vital improvements and are planning additional immediate and near-term upgrades to further strengthen reliability and reduce the risk of outages across West University Place. Our actions taken to date include:

  • Completed eight high-priority upgrades on three distribution circuits and substation equipment to strengthen local reliability and reduce the impact of future outages.
  • Inspected 100% of local electric circuits, including ~27 miles of distribution circuits and transmission structures.
  • Conducted thermal inspections of 100% of local substations to identify potential improvements.
  • Completed 100% of substation improvement projects following thermal inspections.
  • Completing additional improvements by the end of June, including 18 areas targeted for vegetation clearing and 14 distribution equipment improvements.

We hope to see you and your neighbors there.

In the meantime, if you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact Robert Young at 713‑945‑4200 or Robert.Young@CenterPointEnergy.com.
