Executive Vice President, Customer Transformation and Business Services
Gregg is currently Executive Vice President, Customer Transformation and Business Services at CenterPoint Energy. In this role, he oversees Customer Operations, Information Technology, Key Accounts, Marketing, Energy Efficiency, Economic Development, Facilities Management and two of the company’s competitive businesses: Energy Systems Group and Home Service Plus.
Over his 25-year career, Gregg has held leadership roles spanning the entire sales, marketing, and customer operations lifecycle. Most recently, he served as Chief Customer Officer for National Grid, an electricity, natural gas, and clean energy delivery company serving more than 20 million customers in New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. He previously worked at CenterPoint Energy for 11 years serving in various leadership roles, including Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer.
During his tenure at CenterPoint Energy, Gregg drove a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and customer focus that transformed how the company serves customers. CenterPoint Energy made great strides in enhancing customers’ experiences by providing personalized products, services and communication choices based on their unique persona and preferences. He led the development of several innovative services, including Power Alert Service, which alerts customers on the status of their power via text, email or phone call leveraging smart meter and ADMS. Collectively, these efforts contributed to CenterPoint Energy being recognized as an award-winning industry leader in customer satisfaction, product experience, customer-focused culture, and brand trust.
Gregg currently serves on the board of Pentair, Plc. He also serves on the University of Houston, Bauer College of Business, Customer Experience Advisory Panel. He’s been active in several industry associations, including the American Gas Association, Edison Electric Institute and CS Week. Gregg has represented CenterPoint Energy as a board member on two nonprofit organizations that are focused on Houston’s future: Communities in Schools of Houston and Blueprint Houston.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in American studies, with a minor in economics, from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Gregg has also completed the executive management program at Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business in Houston.
