Executive Vice President, Customer Transformation and Business Services

Gregory KnightGregg is Executive Vice President, Customer Transformation and Business Services at CenterPoint Energy. In this role, he oversees Customer Operations, Information Technology, Key Accounts, Marketing, Energy Efficiency, Economic Development, Facilities Management and two of the company’s competitive businesses: Energy Systems Group and Home Service Plus.

Over his 25-year career, Gregg has held leadership roles in technology, sales, energy services, marketing, operations and profit and loss management. Most recently, he served as Chief Customer Officer for National Grid, having responsibility for customer operations across the company’s electricity and natural gas businesses serving more than 20 million customers in New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He previously worked at CenterPoint Energy for 11 years serving in various leadership roles, including Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer.

During his tenure at CenterPoint Energy, Gregg has driven a culture of innovation, strategic management, digital transformation, continuous improvement, financial performance and a customer focus that has greatly enhanced how the company serves customers and meets business and financial commitments. CenterPoint Energy made great strides in enhancing customers’ experiences under his leadership. Collectively, these efforts contributed to CenterPoint Energy being recognized by J.D. Power and Associates as an award-winning industry leader in customer satisfaction, product experience, customer-focused culture and brand trust.

Gregg currently serves on the board of Pentair PLC. He also serves on the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business Customer Experience Advisory Panel. Also, he is a recurring lecturer in brand and marketing at Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in American studies, with a minor in economics, from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Gregg has also completed the executive management program at Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business in Houston. He has a certificate in Audit Committee Governance at Harvard Business School’s Corporate Board Director Program in Boston.
