MINNEAPOLIS – July 11, 2012 – CenterPoint Energy recently awarded the City of Minneapolis a Community Partnership Grant in the amount of $900 for expansion of capabilities for the First Watch Emergency System for emergency responders that will be used to serve the community.

“We are pleased that our Community Partnership Grants provide financial support to cities in our service area, enabling them to address the needs in their community,” said Joe Vortherms, division vice president of regional operations for CenterPoint Energy. “This program also allows us to work closely with the cities we serve, impacting the quality of life in our communities by making them safer places to live and work.”

The program awarded grants up to $2,500 for safety equipment or safety related projects to support emergency response or safety for the citizens of the community. Priority is given to franchised communities that have not received a grant in the last year.
