Minnesota State Fair visitors: Save some green
CenterPoint Energy is offering ways to save energy and money

MINNEAPOLIS – August 23, 2012 – CenterPoint Energy encourages Minnesota State Fair visitors to stop by the Eco Experience building and the Blue Flame Lodge to reduce their home’s energy use, save money for years to come and learn about ways to protect the environment.

“The Minnesota State Fair marks the end of summer and is a reminder that colder weather is around the corner,” said Amber Viehauser, energy programs manager for CenterPoint Energy. “By visiting us at the Sustainability Stage on Thursday, August 23 at 1 p.m. or 4:30 p.m., visitors can learn about home energy audits from our certified auditor and take advantage of a special Fair promotion – a Standard Energy Audit for $40 off the regular price. An energy audit is a great starting point to save energy and money.”

Visitors to the Eco Experience have an opportunity to learn from energy experts about home energy conservation through interactive displays and on-site demonstrations.  Additionally, visitors can learn about how to qualify for utility rebates and more. 1,000 visitors per day will receive energy-saving giveaways.

At the Blue Flame Lodge, visitors can learn about the latest residential natural gas equipment and the economic and environmental benefits of natural gas. 1,000 visitors per day will receive CenterPoint Energy can coolers.
