MINNEAPOLIS – August 28, 2013 – For over 40 years, CenterPoint Energy has been a proud supporter of the Minnesota State Fair.
“We want to see you at the Minnesota State Fair now through Labor Day,” said Amber Viehauser, Energy Programs manager for CenterPoint Energy. “The Blue Flame Lodge and Eco Experience offer hands-on activities and demonstrations that teach visitors how to save money on their natural gas bill while staying safe.”
Kris Tande, Damage Prevention supervisor for CenterPoint Energy added, “For the first time ever, Buddy Blue Flame -our safety mascot- will be helping us give away the popular multi-colored yard sticks at the Gopher State One Call booth in the Blue Flame Lodge and helping to remind everyone to call 811 at least two working days before beginning a digging project. We enjoy visiting with the public each year at the fair and sharing the importance of the yardsticks, which demonstrate the required two-foot tolerance zone that must be maintained for safe digging.”
The Blue Flame Lodge also offers visitors the chance to see the latest residential natural gas equipment available and the opportunity to learn about the economic and environmental benefits of natural gas.
Energy experts at the Eco Experience are available to explain the latest technologies through interactive displays and demonstrations where visitors can:
• Receive step-by-step information to qualify for utility rebates.
• Go through CenterPoint Energy’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) exhibit featuring a zoned heating system, power vent water heater and an Eternal Hybrid tankless water heater.
• Check out natural gas vehicles from CenterPoint Energy’s service fleet and see a natural gas home fueling station.
