​​Save energy and money with a high efficiency water heater rebate from CenterPoint Energy. Lower your monthly energy costs while improving the comfort of your family with a dependable, energy-efficient water heating solution.

After home he​ating, hot water is the second largest user of energy in your home – accounting for 15 percent of your total energy use. Save now with a rebate and for years to come with lower energy bills.

Note: F​or rebate to apply, the new equipment must be listed and Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) or thermal efficiency verified in the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) directory or ENERGY STAR@' Websites.

How the program works

  1. Please review the Ter​ms and Conditions​.
  2. Work with your dealer, plumber or retailer to buy and install a qualifying high-efficiency natural gas water heater for your home or business between Jan. 1 - Dec. 31.
    Online Submission
    Have your dealer, plumber or installer submit a rebate application for your installation (including electronic copy of the dated invoide) through our online rebate processing system. You will receive your rebate faster if your dealer submits the application on your behalf through the dealer-only rebate processing system. 

    Paper Submission
    Complete the application below if you installed the equipment or your plumber didn't submit your rebate in the dealer-only processing system. Simply type your information in the interactive fields and then print your completed form. Please review all program guidelines and requirements on the back of the application.

  3. ​Include a copy of your dated sales receipt/invoice (listing the qualifying natural gas water heater purchased) with your rebate form. Note: A recall or generic receipt will not be accepted. 
  4. Mail the completed application, including required signatures along with the dated sales invoice within the calendar year of installation to:

  5. Allow 12 weeks for rebate processing from the time that CenterPoint Energy receives the complete rebate application.
