Quick Trouble Shooting Tips for your Furnace or Boiler

Have you checked to make sure the air filter at the furnace is clean?

A dirty or clogged filter can affect furnace performance.

Have you checked the thermostat setting?

While this may seem obvious, make sure your thermostat is set to "Heat." This small switch can sometimes get moved very easily and without anyone ever realizing it.

 Is the thermostat working?

Some thermostats are wired to the house's electrical system, while others use batteries. It's possible that a couple new batteries could fix the issue.

 Is the circuit tripped?

Check the circuit breaker in the house to make sure the breaker is on and operational.

 Did you flip the switch?

Furnaces have another switch that looks like a regular light switch and is located either on the furnace or on a wall nearby. Try turning this switch OFF, wait 30 seconds, then turn the switch back ON.
