LITTLE ROCK, AR – January 31, 2017 – CenterPoint Energy is partnering with Junior Achievement Arkansas to celebrate National Groundhog Job Shadow Day (February 2) and host 40 students for a day of learning at its Roosevelt Road operations center. During the Job Shadow event, CenterPoint Energy professionals will help prepare participating students so they get a chance to see how learned skills are applied in the work environment.

About National Groundhog Job Shadow Day Event
Students range in grade level from 8th through 12th and all participate in the school districts' Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses. CTE prepares both youth and adults for a wide range of careers, advanced education and training opportunities. The programs provide specialized training and real-world work experience while reinforcing academic skills and their application in the workplace as well as prepares students for a variety of occupations from entry through professional levels.
On Tuesday, February 2, the students will learn about CenterPoint Energy then break into smaller groups or partner one on one with employees to tour and experience the business in more detail. Additionally, these events will include a review of skill sets for jobs at the company as well as a practice in creating a resume.
