Multifamily High Efficiency New Construction

CenterPoint Energy works in partnership with industry leaders in the creation of a market for high performance and above code certified multifamily units. Developers committed to construct qualifying multifamily complexes within the CenterPoint Energy Houston electric distribution territory receive financial incentives and assistance.

The goal of this program is to create a sustainable market that leads to:

  • An increase in supply of high performance and above code certified multifamily units.
  • Increased consumer demand and perceived value of high performance and above code certified multifamily units.
  • Increased improvements in performance of new multifamily units.

The program offers a base incentive for above-code performance, defined incentives for certain prescriptive measures, a bonus incentive for achieving above-code certification from a nationally-recognized program, and rater incentives to encourage developers to work with qualified raters throughout the design and construction process.
