Submit an Online Rebate

CenterPoint Energy's programmable thermostat rebate helps your customers save up to $50 on one of the easiest ways to save energy and money.

For every one-degree reduction in the thermostat setting, customers can save 3 to 5 percent on heating bills. A programmable thermostat provides easier, greater temperature control.

Thermostat requirements:

  • Can be installed by a dealer with or without a heating system installation
  • Or can be purchased and installed by a customer
  • Must be programmable and currently manufactured: examples of eligible thermostats

Cash for dealers: $5 dealer incentive for each Wi-Fi learning and Wi-Fi enabled thermostat rebate processed listing your company as the dealer. Basic programmable thermostats are not eligible.

How the Program Works

  1.  Work with your customers to determine the best thermostat for their home that qualifies for a rebate. Install the thermostat between Jan. 1 - Dec. 31 and submit the rebate application by Dec. 31.
  2. Complete an online rebate application for your customers and builders. First, please review the Terms & Conditions, then access the NEW Programmable Thermostat Rebate - Online Application to submit the thermostat rebate. 
  3. Submit Online Rebate​​​​
  4. Note: You will need to attach an electronic copy of the date sales invoice to your online application.
  5. We will notify your customer or builder when the rebate application has been submitted and again when payment is approved.
  6. We will mail a rebate check to your customer or builder within eight weeks of receiving the completed rebate application.

Note: This rebate offer is only available to Minnesota residential homes served with natural gas from CenterPoint Energy. Rebates will be processed in the order that they were received and are paid on a first-come, first-served basis.​​
