12/1/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, finished construction on the natural gas distribution main and the regulator station on Barry Avenue S. and E. Rice Street in Wayzata.

The hard surfaces have been restored by CenterPoint Energy’s contractor Q3.

CenterPoint Energy wants to thank the residents and customers for their patience during the construction season.​​


11/22/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, will finish installing the natural gas distribution main and the regulator station tomorrow on Barry Avenue S. and E. Rice Street in Wayzata. The road closure on Barry Avenue S. will be opened for the Thanksgiving weekend.

The remaining work is restoring the hard surfaces affected by construction, completed by CenterPoint Energy’s contractor Q3. This will begin on Monday, November 28. No work will be done over the Thanksgiving holiday on November 24 or 25. ​


11/16/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, are currently installing the 500 feet of natural gas distribution main and the regulator station on Barry Avenue S. and E. Rice Street in Wayzata. The installation of both the main and the station is expected to last until about Thanksgiving. The hard-surface restoration, which will be done by Q3, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, will happen after the installation is complete. It is expected to last the week after Thanksgiving.

Since Barry Avenue S. will be closed from E. Wayzata Boulevard to E. Rice Street, a detour will lead drivers onto E. Rice Street, Minnetonka Avenue S. and E. Wayzata Boulevard. 11/7/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, delayed the start date for construction to begin in the week of November 14, 2016. Construction delayed due to weather, resource availability, or municipal agreements with the city.

The other project details remain the same. The installation of 500 feet of natural gas distribution main and the regulator station will require about two weeks to complete. The crews plan to open the northbound and southbound lanes on Barry Avenue S. by Thanksgiving.

10/24/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, are on schedule to begin construction on the new natural gas pipe along Barry Avenue S. in Wayzata in the week of November 7, 2016. The installation of 500 feet of natural gas distribution main and the regulator station will require about two weeks to complete.
