12/7/2016 Update

Crews from CenterPoint Energy have finished construction on the new natural gas distribution main on Louisiana Avenue S. from W. 23rd Street to W. 27th Street in St. Louis Park.

About 750 feet of main was installed during the week of November 30. Crews from Q3, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, have finished restoring the areas affected by construction.

Traffic barriers have been removed from the site. CenterPoint Energy wants to thank the residents, business owners and customers for their patience. ​


11/29/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy have finished installing about 750 feet of natural gas distribution main along Louisiana Avenue S. from W. 23rd Street to W. 27th Street in St. Louis Park.

Currently, the crews are connecting the newly-installed main to the existing mains that intersect the new main. The connections will last into late this week. Afterward, crews from Q3, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, will temporarily restore the hard surfaces affected by construction. In the 2017 construction season, Q3 will return to permanently restore those areas.

The northbound right lane and sidewalk on Louisiana Avenue S. will be closed during the project, but the crews will maintain two-way traffic on Louisiana Avenue S. ​


11/21/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, have finished installing the natural gas distribution main on Louisiana Avenue S. from W. 23rd Street to W. 27th Street in St. Louis Park. The crews are now connecting the new main to the existing mains that intersect it.

Traffic is being maintained one lane each way, most likely until the end of the week of November 28. By then, the crews from Q3, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, will have finished restoring the areas affected by construction, depending on weather conditions. The crews will temporarily restore the hard surfaces and plan to restore permanently in the 2017 construction season.​

11/18/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, began construction on November 10, 2016. The crews have shifted traffic on Louisiana Avenue S. to the west from Cedar Lake Regional Trail to W. 27th Street. Traffic is being maintained one lane each way.

Construction is expected to last for about two to three weeks, or until approximately Friday, December 2, depending on weather and conditions.​


11/8/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, are on schedule to begin construction on the new natural gas pipe along Louisiana Avenue S. in St. Louis Park tentatively on Thursday, November 10. 

The start date for construction was delayed due to weather, resource availability, or municipal agreements with the city.​​


10/31/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, are planning to begin construction on the new natural gas pipe along Louisiana Avenue S. in St. Louis Park tentatively on Thursday, November 10. 

The start date for construction was delayed due to weather, resource availability, or municipal agreements with the city.​
