12/1/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, finished construction on the natural gas distribution main in Rogers. Both lanes on Territorial Road (County Road 159) are open from Fletcher Lane (County Road 116) to Brockton Lane (County Road 101). The flaggers have been removed from the job. 

Soft-surface restoration has been completed by crews from Q3, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy. The crews will come back in the 2017 construction season to permanently restore the soft surfaces affected by construction.

11/28/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, will be finishing construction on the natural gas distribution main this Wednesday, November 30. The flaggers are removed from the job. There should be no flaggers anymore on the Territorial Road (County Road 159).

Soft-surface restoration will begin after the main crew is done and will last into late this week or next week if necessary. The crews will come back in the 2017 construction season to permanently restore the soft surfaces affected by construction.

11/21/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, are on schedule to finish the Territorial Road (County Road 159) project within the first few days of the week of November 28. The crews have finished installing the natural gas distribution main and are in the process of connecting it to the existing mains that intersect on Fletcher Lane (County Road 116) and Brockton Lane N. (County Road 101).

Both lanes on Territorial Road have been opened up. Crews from Q3, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, are restoring the areas affected by construction, depending on weather conditions.​

11/15/2016 Update

Due to the pace of construction and the end of the construction season, the crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, are expecting to finish the Territorial Road (County Road 159) project in Rogers within the week of November 21 or 28, construction pending.

The crews are installing the last section of the natural gas distribution main on Territorial Road near Brockton Lane N. (County Road 101). The same traffic control applies: The northern westbound lane will remain closed for the duration of the installation.  

The crews from Q3, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, will begin restoring the soft-surface areas affected by construction during this week of November 15.​


11/7/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, are on schedule to complete the Territorial Road (County Road 159) project in Rogers by approximately November 18, construction pending:

  • The crews have installed over three-fourths of the natural main toward Fletcher Lane (County Road 116).

  • ​Traffic control will remain the same: Two-way traffic is directed with flaggers. The northern westbound lane remains closed during the day and opened at night.
 
The end date remains approximately November 18. That includes installing the main, connecting the main to the existing mains on either end, and restoring the areas affected by construction. 



10/31/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, are on schedule to complete the Territorial Road (County Road 159) project in Rogers by approximately November 18, construction pending:

  • ​The crews have installed up to one half of the natural main toward Fletcher Lane (County Road 116).

  • ​Traffic control will remain the same: Two-way traffic is directed with flaggers. The northern westbound lane remains closed during the day and opened at night.

The end date remains approximately November 18. That includes installing the main, connecting the main to the existing mains on either end, and restoring the areas affected by construction.


10/24/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, have installed about one third of the new natural gas distribution main along Territorial Road (County Road 159) from Brockton Lane (County Road 101) toward Fletcher Lane (County Road 116).

When finished, the new main will extend along Territorial Road from Brockton Lane to Fletcher Lane. Flaggers have been set up on either end of Territorial Road to direct two-way traffic, which will be maintained during the length of construction.

The westbound lane will remain closed during construction. The end date for construction is approximately November 18 or the week after, construction pending. ​


10/17/2016 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, began boring the new natural gas distribution main at the corner of Territorial Road (County Road 159) and Brockton Lane (County Road 101). The crews are installing about 5,697 feet of main working westward from Brockton Lane to Fletcher Lane (County Road 116).

For traffic plans, the crews are maintaining two-way traffic while shifting traffic to the eastbound lane. Flaggers are currently placed at intervals of 1,000 feet from Brockton Lane to help the flow of traffic.

10/10/2016 Update

What is CenterPoint Energy doing?

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, will begin construction on the new natural gas pipe along Territorial Road in Rogers on October 11, 2016.

The construction is expected to take until approximately November 18, 2016. The crews are installing about 5,697 feet of natural gas distribution main along Territorial Road (County Road 159) from Fletcher Lane (County Road 116) to Brockton Lane N. (County Road 101). CenterPoint Energy will be boring most of the pipe underneath the soil’s surface. 

What does this mean for residents?

Two-way traffic will be maintained during construction. The crews will be closing the northern westbound lane to install the pipe, and flaggers will direct traffic along the construction zone. The soft surface restoration will be happening either concurrently with the crews’ work or near the completion of the pipe.
