Project 2

CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors anticipate finishing the project within September or October.

What is happening now?

A crew from Michels Corporation plans to finish the project’s natural gas work in mid-September. This includes moving inside meters outside by appointment, replacing and/or reconnecting service lines to the new mains, connecting the new mains to the existing intersecting ones, and putting the existing mains out of service.

The crew completed the service line and meter work on Robinwood Spur, Robinwood Terrace, Farm Lane, Royzelle Lane, and Friar Lane. They are currently working on Elmo Circle, Elmo Road, and Woody Lane.

What should I expect next?

Q3 Contracting will follow to restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. They anticipate finishing the hard and soft surface restoration several weeks after the natural gas work is done. Until then, residents may see temporary backfill on sidewalks and lawns.

On boulevards and lawns, they will refill the areas with black dirt, grass seed, and netting that degrades over about four months. Prior to mowing the restored area, remove any loose staples that secured the blanket.

Project 2

CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, Michels Corporation, has been replacing the neighborhood’s natural gas lines. While one crew replaced all the project’s natural gas mains, another crew is moving inside meters outside and replacing and/or reconnecting the service lines to the new mains. This crew finished working on the houses on Royzelle Lane and on Robinwood Terrace south of Royzelle Lane. They are continuing to work north on Robinwood Terrace.

In the week of August 14, the crew will begin working on the service lines and meters on Elmo Road.

As the crew finishes replacing the natural gas lines at a house, they will put temporary backfill on the excavations. CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, Q3 Contracting, plans to come in a few weeks to permanently restore these areas. On boulevards and lawns, they will refill the areas with black dirt, grass seed, and netting that degrades over about four months. Prior to mowing the restored area, remove any loose staples that secured the netting.
