​​Natural Gas Line Upgrades in Zimmerman - Project Updates

CenterPoint’s construction in Zimmerman will be complete by the end of this week. Restoration of all affected areas will begin in the coming weeks.

4/16/2025

Work to install new sections of modern natural gas main is taking place on Fremont Avenue, or County Road 4 Northwest. The crew plans to move to 10th Street Northwest next. We expect main installation to continue for the next few weeks before service crews come on site.


At this time, traffic is impacted by a shift in the lanes without closures or detours. Expect one sidewalk to be closed on 10th Street Northwest and street parking to be restricted on both sides of the road.

Natural gas construction updates

For a few months beginning this April, CenterPoint Energy will replace natural gas infrastructure in Zimmerman. Updates regarding the utility crew's location, traffic impacts and other details will be posted here regularly.


Before construction begins, an authorized contractor will be in the area to locate sewer lines in relation to natural gas lines. This is an important safety measure CenterPoint is required to take. It is possible a technician performing this work will need to access your home to locate sewer lines. Ask to see CenterPoint Energy identification before letting anyone in your home.
