3/4/2025

Due to extreme temperatures and the nature of CenterPoint’s work in Chaska, we are now expecting construction to last longer than initially estimated. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Infrastructure construction continues in Chaska with a crew working at the intersection of White Oak Drive and Engler Boulevard. At this stage in the project, plastic gas mains that run along the south side of Engler Boulevard are being replaced with modern piping ahead of road improvements to be done this spring by the city of Chaska.

Traffic on Engler Boulevard remains flowing in both directions.

We anticipate plastic main upgrades to be complete by the end of February. Service work will begin as weather allows.

Modernization of CenterPoint Energy’s natural gas infrastructure in Chaska began on December 12. Between then and now, our utility crews have completed steel main installation. Plastic main replacement is in progress on the south side of Engler Boulevard between Royal Oak Drive and White Oak Drive. The crew will move to the intersection of White Oak Drive and Engler Boulevard next.

Service work and meter relocations will follow gas main installation as weather allows. It is likely this work will be done in the warmer months of 2025. Updates will be provided prior to work resuming in Chaska.

What will CenterPoint Energy do?

For a few months beginning December 6, as weather allows, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will work in Chaska to modernize the natural gas infrastructure. The pipes used in these projects are more resistant to corrosion and leakage, helping us continue to provide the safe, reliable service that keeps you comfortable in your home.

This project includes both steel and plastic gas main upgrades. Service work will be completed as weather allows.
