All construction in Lake Crystal was completed in November. Any work that may remain is restoration of affected areas.
Thank you for your patience this season as we carried out important upgrades to our gas distribution system. Have a wonderful winter!
All work on the gas main was completed last week on Oct. 16.
Services began a few weeks ago, and approximately half of service work has been completed at this time. This week, the crew is working on Blue Earth Street between Crystal Street N. and Logan Street N. and Prince Street between Main Street N. and Logan Street N. The final construction step for this project will be to abandon and demolish the steel regulatory station in the area. Expect three to four more weeks before work is complete in Lake Crystal.
Restoration on roads, sidewalks, and boulevards is already being done in the wake of service work, trailing behind by a week or two. At this time, lawns will be prepared for permanent restoration when the weather allows.
Installation of the new gas main in this area is complete. Crews are now working on Watonwan Street East and Crystal Street East as well as on Shepherd Street East and Murphy Street East perform gas main tie ins. We anticipate gas main work to be complete by the end of next week.
Beginning early next week, crews will be working on the steel regulatory station in the parking lot located where Prince Street East and Murphy Street South meet.
There are no road closures or restrictions on parking at this time.
For a few months in summer or fall 2024, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will upgrade CenterPoint’s natural gas infrastructure in Lake Crystal. Equix Integrity updates our records on the locations of sewer lines in relation to natural gas lines. Michels Corporation will replace the natural gas mains, move inside meters outside by appointment, replace and/or reconnect service lines to the new main. Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work.
