A crew from Michels Corporation, a CenterPoint Energy authorized contractor, finished replacing all the natural gas lines within CenterPoint Energy’s natural gas line replacement project in Andover. We appreciate your patience as the work took place.
Remaining work will include restoration efforts from Q3 Contracting, a CenterPoint Energy authorized contractor, within the next few weeks. We apologize for the inconvenience. Until areas are restored to their original condition, residents may see temporary backfill such as dirt, gravel, or asphalt. Boulevards and lawns will receive black dirt, grass seed, and netting that degrades over about four months. Residents are encouraged to water as needed.
Thank you for working with us! We hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend!

A portion of CenterPoint Energy’s natural gas line replacement project in Andover is complete, and another portion has begun. While one crew from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, replaced all the natural gas mains within the project’s routes, two other crews began moving inside meters outside by appointment and replacing and/or reconnecting the natural gas service lines to the new mains.
They anticipate finishing their work—which will complete all the project’s natural gas work—by approximately mid-May. The crews are working all throughout the project’s route, currently focusing on the following streets, which they plan to finish gas work in the week of April 29:
Quinn Street NW between 138th Avenue NW and 140th Lane NW; 138th Avenue NW between Quinn Street NW and Nightingale Street NW; the cul-de-sac of Osage Street NW; 139th Avenue NW between Quinn Street NW and Nightingale Street NW; and Nightingale Street NW between 138th Avenue NW and 139th Avenue NW.
In early May, they plan to finish the natural gas work on the project’s remaining streets: 140th Lane NW between Quinn Street NW and Nightingale Street NW; Partridge Street NW between 139th Avenue NW and 140th Lane NW; and Nightingale Street NW between 139th Avenue NW and 140th Lane NW.
A crew from Q3 Contracting, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, will follow to restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work outside the limits of the City of Andover’s Red Oaks Water Contamination Mitigation project. They anticipate beginning their restoration work about three weeks after Michels Corporation finishes their natural gas work. We appreciate your patience.

What will CenterPoint Energy do?
For approximately two months beginning in early April 2024, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will work along select streets in Andover in coordination with the city’s improvement project. Equix Integrity will update our records on the locations of sewer lines in relation to natural gas lines. A natural gas contractor (to be determined) will replace natural gas mains, move inside meters to the outside of homes by appointment, and replace or reconnect service lines as needed. Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by the gas contractor’s work. There will be no assessment or cost associated with our work.
