Minneapolis - Riverside Regulator Station and Pigging Project
Scheduled Start Date: October 16, 2017
What is CenterPoint Energy doing for construction?
In preparation for CenterPoint Energy’s upcoming pipeline inspection project, authorized personnel may produce a natural gas flare, which is a controlled burning of natural gas, at intermittent periods from Monday, October 16, to Friday, October 27, at the company’s Riverside regulator station located at 3100 Marshall Street NE in Minneapolis. The work day is anticipated to be 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., but could be extended to complete particular tests. (See map below.)
The flare can be visible to and heard by nearby residences, occupied businesses and those traveling in the immediate vicinity. As the flare is a controlled burn of natural gas, there is no danger to the public or property. However, the public is advised to stay away from the area of operations, which is adjacent to CenterPoint Energy’s facility.
Local emergency responders, as well as other appropriate officials, are aware of CenterPoint Energy’s planned natural gas flare. We are making every effort to reduce any inconvenience to area residents and businesses; we don’t expect natural gas service to be interrupted to any homes or businesses and we do not anticipate any traffic disruptions.
