Minneapolis Phillips Neighborhood - Project Updates

In the week of October 14th, a crew from Michels, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, plans to begin replacing the natural gas main under both sidewalks of Cedar Ave S between 24th St E and 26th St E. They anticipate that the main replacement on this road will take approximately 1-2 weeks. During this time, parking will be restricted on both sides of Cedar Ave S in this area.

In the week of October 6th, a crew from Michels, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, plans to begin replacing the natural gas main under the East sidewalk of Cedar Ave S between Midtown Greenway and 24th St E. They anticipate that the main replacement on this road will take approximately 2-3 weeks. During this time, parking will be restricted on both sides of Cedar Ave S in this area. Within this timeframe work will also take place at the intersections of 28th St E, & 27th St E, and along the north side of 26th St E. Parking will be limited in these areas at times.

In the week of September 29th, a crew from Michels, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, plans to begin replacing the natural gas main under the West sidewalk of Cedar Ave S between Midtown Greenway and E Lake St. They anticipate that the main replacement on this road will take approximately 1 week. During this time, parking will be restricted on both sides of Cedar Ave S in this area.

In the week of September 29th, a crew from Michels, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, plans to begin replacing the natural gas main under the north sidewalk of Em Stately St between Cedar Ave S and Hiawatha Ave. They anticipate that the main replacement on this road will take approximately 1 week. During this time, parking will be restricted on both sides of Em Stately S in this area.

In the week of September 29th, a crew from Michels, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, plans to begin replacing the natural gas main under the easement between Cedar Ave S and 18 Ave S at 25th St E. They anticipate that the main replacement on this road will take approximately 1-2 weeks. During this time, parking will be restricted in the area of 25th St E & 18 Ave S.

For a few weeks this fall, CenterPoint Energy will replace natural gas infrastructure in Phillips Neighborhood along Cedar Ave S. Updates regarding the utility crew's location, traffic impacts and other details will be posted here regularly.

Before construction begins, an authorized contractor will be in the area to locate sewer lines in relation to natural gas lines. This is an important safety measure CenterPoint is required to take. It is possible a technician performing this work will need to access your home to locate sewer lines. Ask to see CenterPoint Energy identification before letting anyone in your home.
