Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, will resume construction on Central Avenue NE in the Spring of 2015. Please check back in the Spring for updates regarding this construction project. Thank you.
Michels Corporation crews, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, will complete removal of water and saturated soil due to all the rain on Friday, May 2nd. Crews will then backfill the trench with sand and gravel, which will complete phase one of the construction project.
Michels crews will return later this summer to complete phase two at a date yet to be determined.

Michels Corporation Crews are replacing natural gas distribution pipe on Central Avenue to within 15 feet from the south end of the rail road bridge. Pipe replacement is anticipated to be complete on Monday, April 28.
After Minnesota Department of Transportation’s contractor completes road work, Michels Corporation Crews will return to complete pipe installation under the bridge.
Please expect lane closures throughout the duration of the construction project. Thank you for your patience.
Michels Corporation, an authorized Centerpoint Energy contractor, has completed replacement of all natural gas distribution pipe within the scope of the project with the exception of pipe under the railroad bridge. Pipelines are now in service on the south end of the rail road bridge. The north side is expected to be in service by Thursday, April 17th.
Crews will begin service line replacements on Thursday, April 17th. Service line work is anticipated to be completed by Thursday, April 24th. South bound traffic on Central Avenue will be reduced to one lane.

Poor soil conditions have hindered pipeline installation progress along Central Avenue from the railroad bridge to 14th Avenue NE.
On Tuesday, April 8th, a second Michels Corporation Crew will begin digging an open trench across 14th Avenue NE. This portion of the project is anticipated to last two days.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane on the east side of Central Avenue at 14th Avenue NE.
Access to local businesses will remain open on 14th Avenue NE. When exiting businesses, 13th Avenue NE and Tyler Street NE can be used as an alternative route.
Weather permitting, Q3, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, will set up traffic controls on Central Avenue that reduce north bound traffic to one lane after 9:00 am on April 1st. The lane will be closed for the duration of the project which is scheduled to be complete by Monday, April 28th.
Michels Corporation, a CenterPoint Energy authorized contractor, will also begin construction on Central Avenue from 14th Avenue NE to 18th Avenue NE on Tuesday, April 1st.
Access to local businesses will be open on the east side of Central Avenue despite sidewalk closures. The sidewalk on the west side of Central Avenue will remain open during project construction. We will accommodate pedestrians that need to get to businesses on the east side of Central Avenue.
