10/12/2016 Update​

Crews from CenterPoint Energy are currently not working on this project. The information from September 26, 2016, remains the same.

The project includes the installation of about 9,534 feet of natural gas distribution main in the Lakeshore area and the connection of about 129 natural gas service lines.

CenterPoint Energy will continue to provide updates on the progress of construction. We want to thank the residents and customers for their patience.


9/26/2016 Update

What is CenterPoint Energy doing?

Crews from Richmond Construction, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, are installing about 9,534 feet of natural gas distribution main in the areas of Jewella Avenue, Lakeshore Drive and Milton Street in Shreveport. They are also replacing about 129 natural gas service lines.

Where are the crews now?

The crews have installed natural gas distribution main on Dilg League Drive, Lillian Street and W. College Street and are currently installing main in the Lakeshore/Jewella areas. The crews are also currently replacing services on Dilg League Drive, Lillian Street and W. College Street.​


7/14/2016 Update

What is CenterPoint Energy doing?

As a system upgrade project, crews from Richmond Construction, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, are upgrading the cast iron pipes in the areas of Jewella Avenue, Lakeshore Avenue and Milton Street in Shreveport. 

Where are the crews now?

The crews are continuing to install the main gas pipes in the Lakeshore, Jewella and Milton Street areas. The crews have also installed a few services in the Judson Street area.

6/21/2016 Update

As a system upgrade project, Richmond Construction, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, is upgrading various diameters of cast iron pipe with approximately 9,534 feet of 2-inch, 4-inch and 6-inch plastic pipe along Jewella Avenue, Lakeshore Avenue and Milton Street in Shreveport. 

The work began on June 1, 2016 and includes the replacement of 129 natural gas service lines.
