​​​​Project Status - Shreveport - Phase 57 (Gilbert Street)

10/12/2016 Update

Crews from CenterPoint Energy have finished installing about 33,907 feet of new natural gas distribution main in the Gilbert Drive area in Shreveport. They also connected about 650 natural gas service lines to the new main.

Currently the crews are relocating gas meters on Gilbert Drive and the surrounding streets, including Ockley Drive, Gilbert Drive, Huron Street and Line Avenue.   ​

What is CenterPoint Energy doing?

Crews from CenterPoint Energy have finished installing about 33,907 feet of new natural gas distribution main in the Gilbert Drive area in Shreveport. The project also includes a total of 650 natural gas service lines.​

Where are the crews now?

The crews are currently doing dress ups, concrete replacements and meter relocates. They also have about 5 to 10 gas service lines left to replace.


7/14/2016 Update

What is CenterPoint Energy doing?

Crews from CenterPoint Energy are working on installing the last portions of main gas pipelines in the Gilbert Drive area in Shreveport.

​Where are the crews now?

Currently, the streets of Gilbert Drive and Huron Street are finished with installations. The only main pipe left to complete is about 150 feet of 2-inch plastic pipe in the area of Dudley Square.

In the meantime, the crews are installing a few more services in the same area. The crews will remain there doing killouts for a while in the near future.​

What is CenterPoint Energy doing?

Crews from Wayne Holden Company, an authorized contractor from CenterPoint Energy, are replacing approximately 33,907 feet of gas pipelines in Shreveport along Gilbert Drive, Huron Street and Dudley Square. This work began in February 2016.

Where will this be happening?

Crews are replacing gas pipelines on selected roads in Shreveport:

  • Gilbert Drive from Monrovia Street to Pierremont Road
  • Huron Street between the 400 and 700 blocks
  • ​Dudley Square​
