CenterPoint Energy’s construction is finished on the East River Road project in Fridley. The areas affected by construction have been restored, and the traffic barriers have been removed on East River Road from 37th Avenue NE to 44th Avenue NE.

Crews from MN Limited, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, are finishing the restoration of areas affected by construction. Restoration is expected to last until Thursday, May 25.

The date of restoration's completion has been delayed due to weather. When restoration is complete, the crews will remove the traffic barriers on East River Road.

Crews from MN Limited, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, are currently restoring the surfaces affected by construction. Restoration is expected to last until Friday, May 19, or early within the week of May 22. 

The date of restoration's completion has been delayed due to weather. When restoration is complete, the crews will remove the traffic barriers on East River Road.

Crews from MN Limited, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, have finished installing the new natural gas main on East River Road in Fridley. Currently the crews are restoring the areas affected by construction. Hard and soft restoration is expected to last until the end of the week of May 15. When restoration is complete, the crews will remove the traffic barriers on East River Road.

Crews from MN Limited, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, will finish construction on the new natural gas main by Friday, May 5. The pipe will be installed along East River Road from 37th Avenue NE to 44th Avenue NE.

Starting the week of May 8, the crews will restore the areas affected by construction. By the end of the week of May 15, the crews will remove the traffic control barriers along East River Road from 37th Avenue NE to 44th Avenue NE.​



4/25/2017
Crews from MN Limited, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, have installed 50 percent of the new natural gas main (Phase 1). During the project, they will continue to keep the eastern southbound lane open and close the western southbound lane on East River Road between 37th Avenue NE and 44th Avenue NE. The northbound lanes in the construction area will remain unaffected.

Project construction is expected to last until the week of May 15. The crews will be restoring the areas affected by construction (Phase 2). ​

Crews from MN Limited, an authorized contractor for CenterPoint Energy, will be closing the western southbound lane on East River Road between 37th Avenue NE and 44th Avenue NE. This lane closure will remain in effect throughout the duration of the entire project, which is expected to end within the week of May 15. The lane restriction is necessary to keep both the public and construction personnel safe.

Meanwhile, the eastern southbound lane will remain open throughout the duration of the project. The northbound lanes on East River Road between 37th Avenue NE and 44th Avenue NE will remain unaffected.​

What is CenterPoint Energy doing for construction?

Crews from CenterPoint Energy will begin replacing an existing natural gas pipeline in Fridley on April 17, 2017. Project construction is expected to last until the week of May 15. (Any changes in project dates will be noted on CenterPoint Energy’s website.) MN Limited, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, will begin installing natural gas mains along East River Road (County Road 1) between 37th Avenue NE and 44th Avenue NE.

Lane restrictions are anticipated in areas where active construction is occurring. The lane restrictions are necessary to keep both the public and construction personnel safe.

This construction will happen in two phases: 

  • Phase 1 is installing the natural gas distribution main.
  • ​Phase 2 is restoring the areas affected by construction—typically the utility easement, the street, and the customer’s yard.
