Crews from Minnesota Limited, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, have finished the project’s natural gas main installations. 62nd Way will be reopen after restoration on Friday, May 22.

Crews from Minnesota Limited, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are continuing the closure on 62nd Way NE between East River Road and River View Terrace for approximately one more week to allow for the natural gas main replacement and for restoration. Residential access will be maintained.

From May 4 to 6, crews from Minnesota Limited, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, will close Osborne Road at the BNSF railroad crossing east of East River Road in Fridley. A detour route will lead drivers to Highway 47 (University Avenue), 85th Avenue and East River Road.
The crews are continuing to close 62nd Way NE between East River Road and River View Terrace. This closure will continue to last into mid-May. Residential access will be maintained, but delays will occur.

On Monday, April 27, crews from Minnesota Limited, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, will close 62nd Way NE between East River Rd and River View Terrace. Residential access will be maintained, but delays will occur. The closure will last approximately two to three weeks with restoration.
Project description: CenterPoint Energy’s project is anticipated to last from the week of April 20 to mid-May 2020 with work from CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors. Crews from Minnesota Limited, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, will perform maintenance on the existing natural gas main. Crews from Q3 Contracting, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, will restore the areas affected by Minnesota Limited’s work.
Natural gas main maintenance: According to the Governor of Minnesota’s order, gas main maintenance is an essential work function. This allows for the modernization of related gas facilities. The gas main work requires excavations in various locations in the right-of-way (front yard) to facilitate the installation work.
The crews will not be entering any homes for this project.
Traffic impacts: For two weeks, the crews will close 62nd Way NE between Riverview Terrance NE and East River Road. Local access will be maintained. A detour route will direct all other traffic to East River Road, 63rd Way NE and Riverview Terrace NE.
Within the project’s duration, the crew will close one lane on East River Road at 62nd Way NE, maintaining two-way traffic. These restrictions occur in areas of active construction and are necessary to keep both the public and construction personnel safe.
