Construction is finished in Edina on Tracy Avenue.
Crews from CenterPoint Energy have finished construction on Tracy Avenue in Edina. The main gas pipeline, services and restorations are completed.
CenterPoint Energy wants to thank you for your patience.
Crews from CenterPoint Energy are working on Tracy Avenue north of Countryside Road to Benton Avenue in Edina. They expect to finish by June 30 or July 1.
After the week of June 27, there will be a service crew to tie over gas services to houses on Tracy Avenue.
In the meantime, traffic on Tracy Avenue will be somewhat restricted until the week of July 4 when the blacktop is finished.
During the week of June 13, crews from CenterPoint Energy finished the blacktop road from Arbor Lane to Ridgeway Road off Tracy Avenue in Edina.
During this week of June 20, crews from CenterPoint Energy are installing a 12-inch steel pipe on Tracy Avenue heading north from Highland Road. Traffic is reduced to one lane on Tracy Avenue.
Crews plan to finish installing the pipe by the last week of June.
To reference the 6/6/2016 Update (as seen on this web page below), crews from CenterPoint Energy have moved onto Olinger Boulevard. Here's what to expect in the next few weeks:
- Crews are installing a 24-inch gas pipeline along Olinger Boulevard at Jeff Place. The installation has moved from the driven road into the grass area on the east side of Bredesen Park.
- Later in the week of 6/6 the walking and bike trails on the east side of the park will be closed for 2-3 weeks as the construction moves into the park area.
- Blacktop restoration of Olinger Boulevard from Colonial Way to Jeff Place will take place the week of 6/6 and weather permitting should be open to normal traffic by Friday 6/10.
- Blacktop street and path paving is also taking place on Olinger Boulevard near Vernon Avenue, and this area is also expected to be open to normal traffic the week of 6/6.
Overall, traffic will continue to be challenging in the area due to the road reconstruction of Tracy Avenue, according to the city of Edina's reconstruction project.
When the new pipeline construction progresses further into Bredesen Park over the next couple of weeks, the parking lot and street entrance to the park will eventually be closed. This closure is expected to happen mid-June, and will be clarified in upcoming updates.
Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, are installing a 12-inch steel main pipeline on Tracy Avenue going north to Arbor Lane and Benton Avenue.
By the week of June 6, the project will be put on hold for another project in Edina. Crews will return to Tracy Avenue shortly afterward.
Detours are set up for traffic to get through on Tracy Avenue to Highway 62.
