Eagan Regulator Station
Scheduled Start Date: July 13, 2015 - July 30, 2015
In preparation for CenterPoint Energy’s upcoming pipeline inspection project, authorized personnel may produce a natural gas flare, which is a controlled burning of natural gas, at intermittent periods from Monday, July 13 to Thursday, July 30 at the Company’s Eagan station located near Cedar Avenue and Old Sibley Memorial Highway. The work day is anticipated to be 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., but could be extended to complete particular tests. In order to work as efficiently as possible, it is possible the natural gas flaring may be necessary at night.
The flare can be visible to and heard by nearby residences, occupied businesses and those traveling in the immediate vicinity. As the flare is a controlled burn of natural gas, there is no danger to the public or property. However, the public is advised to stay away from the area of operations, which is within the confines of CenterPoint Energy’s facility.
Local emergency responders are aware of CenterPoint Energy’s planned natural gas flare. We are making every effort to reduce any inconvenience to area residents and businesses; we don’t expect natural gas service to be interrupted to any homes or businesses and we do not anticipate any traffic disruptions.
